There are a multitude of valuable resources for individuals interested in employment in the nonprofit sector and for nonprofits interested in specific topics. The following resource list is a partial list of organizations, firms and technical assistance providers in Georgia and the U.S. The list is by no means an exhaustive list but should be viewed as a starting point.
Please note that due to the comprehensive services offered by many of the providers they may be listed in one category yet have services in several other categories. It is therefore advisable to scan through the entire list to understand an organization’s full menu.

National Center for Charitable Statistics
Questions about the nonprofit sector – this is where you want to be. One of my favorite sites. The National Center for Charitable Statistics (NCCS) is the national repository of data on the nonprofit sector in the United States. Its mission is to develop and disseminate high quality data on nonprofit organizations and their activities for use in research on the relationships between the nonprofit sector, government, the commercial sector, and the broader civil society. Working closely with the IRS and other government agencies, private sector service organizations, and the scholarly community, NCCS builds compatible national, state, and regional databases and develops uniform standards for reporting on the activities of charitable organizations. Another valuable tool is the ability to create customized searches and reports based on geographic location and other selective criteria.
