It is always best to use job sites that specialize in nonprofits when seeking nonprofit employment. These sites are looking for individuals with specific skill sets that have a passion for the organization’s mission. The more focused the search, the greater the likelihood that you will find what you are looking for quicker. Additionally, these sites will allow you to search by mission or focus area, location and job function.

    The go-to for many nonprofit organizations. Thousands of job openings, internships and volunteer opportunities at a wide variety of nonprofits both in the U.S. and abroad. Considered by many to be the best place to find nonprofit jobs.
  • National Council of Nonprofits
    The job board contains hundreds of nonprofit job listings in the U.S.
  • Chronicle of Philanthropy
    News and job source for charity leaders, fundraisers, grantmakers, and others involved in philanthropic enterprises. Excellent resource for nonprofits and individuals seeking information on nonprofit compensation and salaries. Considered by many as the news source for the nonprofit sector.
  • DevEx
    Interested in working overseas? The best job board for you will be DevEx, which specializes in international development jobs.

  • American Marketing Association
    The American Marketing Association (AMA) is one of the largest marketing associations in the world with over 30,000 members who work, teach and study in the field of marketing across the globe. The AMA is an excellent resource for nonprofits interested in ways to extend their outreach to new markets.  Job postings can also be found here.
  • Center for Association Leadership
    ASAE represents more than 21,000 association executives and industry partners representing 10,000 organizations from across the U.S. and nearly 50 countries around the world.  The website includes information on almost every association as well as an exhaustive list of tools and templates to download (members only).  The monthly newsletter, Associations Now, features tools and ideas for readers and is an excellent resource.  The website offers a list of job postings by state and some good resources for job seekers.
  • Association of Fundraising Professionals
    The Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP) is the professional association of individuals and organizations that generate philanthropic support for a wide variety of charitable institutions. Founded in 1960, AFP advances philanthropy through its more than 30,000 members in 230 chapters throughout the world.  The Greater Atlanta chapter promotes professional development, networking and volunteer opportunities for those working in the fundraising arena.  Also includes a job posting section.
  • Career Builder
    Looking for a new job? Career Builder allows you to search over 1.6 million jobs on the largest job site, set alerts to be first in line and have new jobs emailed to you.  The site also offers specialized tools to assist you in your search.
  • CEO Update
    CEO Update is the leading resource for executive-level jobs in the association field. Additionally, the website reports senior-level openings in professional societies and nonprofits.
  • Charity Channel
    Charity Channel is a resource comprised of nonprofit-sector professionals from around the world who volunteer their time, advice, information, tips and articles for the benefit of the community.  You can also conduct a Career Search Online.  Membership is very reasonable.
  • The Nonprofit Times Career Center
    Business publication for nonprofit management.  The website includes management tips, a marketplace, job listings, articles, etc.  Grant Finder was added to help nonprofits identify recently posted grants.  The Nonprofit Times also issues an annual salary survey (February) and maintains the latest trends in pay at nonprofits across the country.
  • Work for Good
    Employment website listing job opportunities in all areas and levels of nonprofit organizations, nationwide.  Very comprehensive and a must “go to” place for jobseekers.
  • Philanthropy New York
    Philanthropy New York provides valuable resources for grantmaking institutions in the New York region. Philanthropy New York hosts group informational interviews three times per year to explore career paths in the philanthropic sector. 
  • Council on Foundations
    COF Career Center contains the largest source of nonprofit jobs in the nation. Career Development COF has a wealth of resources for nonprofit professionals to further their careers.
